Berlin, Jun 25 (IANS): Bundesliga side Hamburg completed the signing of Basel striker Jaques Zoua until 2016, the club said on it official homepage.
Hamburg wrapped up the first signing under new sporting director Oliver Kreutzer as striker Jaques Zoua put pen to paper on a three-year deal after he passed the medical check-up here Monday, reports Xinhua.
The 21-year-old Cameroonian played four years for the Swiss side FC Basel to score 14 goals in 80 appearances. In addition, he is since 2011 part of the Cameroon national soccer team to make three caps.
"He is still young, but has already a lot of experience in the Swiss soccer league and he can continue to evolve," Hamburg's director of sport Oliver Kreuzer said.
"Hamburg is a great club and the Bundesliga is a big deal for me. Certainly the coach Thorsten Fink was also a reason why I decided for a transfer to Hamburg," Zoua said.
Hamburg completed the last season on a disappointing seventh position without the possibility to participate in Europe.
