22 kg of cocaine seized at Rome airport


Rome, Jul 3 (IANS/AKI): Police at Rome's Fiumicino airport arrested three people carrying 22 kg of cocaine as they came in a flight from Brazil.

The drugs are estimated at over five million euros.

A Cypriot and a Ukrainian had hidden the drugs beneath false bottoms in the luggage they checked into the aircraft's hold.

The third suspect, a Brazilian who said she was on a pilgrimage to Italy, had concealed the narcotics in her hand-luggage.
