IB writes to Union Home Ministry against CBI on Ishrat case

New Delhi, Jul 5 (PTI) : Taking strong exception to CBI's alleged "witch-hunt" against its officials in Ishrat Jahan case, the Intelligence Bureau has lodged a strong protest with the Union Home Ministry saying the investigating agency's move would only hurt the morale of the officers of IB.

In a formal letter, IB Director Asif Ibrahim said CBI's move to prosecute its officials in the alleged fake encounter case in Gujarat, would be "disastrous for the morale of IB officers" and would harm the country's internal security.

Sources said Ibrahim wanted to put on record IB's displeasure over CBI's alleged attempt to frame IB officers the alleged encounter that took place nine years ago and wanted government action over it.

IB has been maintaining that its officials only provided intelligence inputs and had nothing to do with any alleged fake encounter.

Besides, it has also been maintaining that CBI does not have enough evidence to prosecute IB officers, including Kumar, in the alleged fake encounter case.

CBI has told a court in Ahmedabad that it would further investigate the role of four IB officials, including the Special Director of the IB Rajednra Kumar, in the alleged fake encounter case.

IB's letter, received by the just retired Union Home Secretary R K Singh, has been forwarded to the Prime Minister's Office for further action.

The Ministry of Personnel, which is the nodal Ministry of CBI, falls under the direct jurisdiction of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Let us face it - IB and RAW keeps issuing potential terrorist attack plots through out the year and through out the country. It is based on information - some times provided by not so reliable sources. No terrrorists gives this info themselves!
Encounters happen all over the country - some times genuine, some times fake and some times intentional by frustrated police officers.
There is no way to stop the both wrong information and fake encounters with current political, beurocratic system.
The least we can do is not to demotivate these forces, which will give upperhand to terrorists.
The hard facts are that if encounters did not happen, we would have lost Punjab and Kasmir by now. Remember how KPS Gill was a hero for us but some politicians did their best to drag him to court?

The weird behaviour by the congress stalwarts shows the level of frustration in the party. If they had been sensible in all their moves in governance and otherwise, they would have had more credibility. but their attitude shows beyond doubt that they are indulging in politics of vengeance and suspecting IB,thus compromising the national security all for vote bank politics.

Dirty politics being played by the corrupt congress party to defame modiji & appease the minorites. Now the IB Director Asif Ibrahim himself has said that IB name is getting tarnished because of the decisive politics being played by the congress.

The best thing about the whole scene is that home minister says " I don't Know, will look into it".
National security is at stake because of congress's vote bank politics. Sensitive Dept like IB is targeted just for the sake of votes creating a sense of insecurity to such Departments. Its like USA targeting CIA & Pakisthan targeting ISI or Isreal targeting Mosad, No matter what work these Dept do good or bad @ the end of the day its for the national security, but here is a party or Govt in our country stooping to all low level to polarize votes at the time when India is among the top hitlist countries by the terror groups and the govt is only kepping the IB officials moral all time low just for votes. Then when blasts happen in the country Guvt & people target the same IB Dept about Intellience. Votebank politics at all time LOW, Congress using all the tack ticks to enter Parliament through back door in next Loksabha Election, number of medias aiding with the same project. SHAME SHAME
