India official to oversee Cambodia election


Agartala, Jul 6 (IANS): Tripura's Chief Electoral Officer Ashutosh Jindal will oversee the July 28 national assembly polls in Cambodia as an international observer, an official said Saturday.

He will be the sole international observer from India, an Election Commission official told IANS.

Cambodia is set to elect a 123-member parliament. Eight political parties are likely to take part.

India has donated some 40,000 bottles of indelible ink worth $877,000 for the Cambodian election.
