Two killed in China chemical plant explosion


Beijing, July 11 (IANS): At least two people were killed and seven injured in a chemical plant explosion in China's Hubei province Wednesday, authorities said.

Several houses in the plant collapsed after the explosion, which occurred around noon at a biochemical plant in Suizhou city, reported Xinhua citing fire authorities.

The injured, including a police officer, were hospitalised. The blast, however, did not affect the city's water and air quality.
