Be wary on blind date

New Delhi, July 11 (IANS): Blind dates can be tricky! Experts suggest one should not readily give away contact numbers or home addresses in the first meeting. Also, if you don't like your partner, it is advisable to end the conversation politely and amicably.

Here are a few tips for a smooth and pleasing blind date, according to femalefirst.co.uk:

Have realistic expectations: You’ve got to be real. Have faith that if your friend has sent you on a blind date, he must be sure that you’ll like him, but don’t be under the illusion that you’ll be getting Tom Hardy sitting opposite you.

Nag your friend for informatio: If your friend has sent you on a date, then try and get as much information about that person. Not only will this give you an indication of what to expect on your date, but it will also allow you to have some idea of what he likes, dislikes and what both of you have in common.

Don't walk away: It's a blind date. So, if you don't like him, just don't tell him straight on his face. Do not walk away immediately. Think of how you would feel if he would have done the same? Just because he might not be your type doesn’t mean that you can’t have a good time.

Have fun: Don't forget that you’re there to have some good time and enjoy each other’s company. So, even if you don’t see it going anywhere romantically, you can still have a good time. If the date is going badly, don’t be rude, simply try and end the date as soon as possible and say goodbye amicably.

Be cautious: Even if that person is your best friend's friend, be cautious with what kind of information you give away. Remember, you don’t actually know this man so, don’t give your address or details of your workplace. No matter how well the date is going, don’t invite him at your house or accept his invitation until you’ve gotten to know each other really well.
