Cong attacks Modi over veil of secularism remark

New Delhi, Jul 15 (PTI): Hitting out at Narendra Modi over his veil of secularism remark, Congress today said the "cloak of secularism" envelopes all faiths while the veil of communalism is sectarian and the country is witnessing a clash of these two visions.

Congress leader and Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said the choice before people was an inclusive India or an India which is sectarian.

"The cloak of secularism is all pervasive. It envelopes Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Jains - people of all faiths. While the veils of communalism are extremely sectarian. They believe, in their language people whom they qualify as 'kutte ka bachcha', which you (media) translated as puppies, should be crushed under the wheels of communalism," he told reporters here.

Modi had yesterday charged Congress with wearing the "burqa (veil) of secularism" and "hiding in a bunker" each time it is confronted with a crisis.

Tewari said, "This polarisation is not about Hindus versus Muslims, it is not about those who are the sufferers of a pogrom and those who inflicted the pogrom. It is about the basic idea of India, what kind of India we want to see".

"An India where people of all faiths, all religions, all dispensations, all inclinations have the right to progress in peace or an India which is sectarian in character, where some people believe that if you are not with us, you are against us and if you are against us, you deserve to be crushed under the wheels of communalism. I think that is the question we need to answer," he said.

The Congress leader said that the country had to choose between an inclusive vision and one that was sectarian and majoritarian.

"I think we are again back to basics, the fundamental clash of visions. The vision of the Congress party is pluralistic and inclusive. And the vision of the section of the opposition has been sectarian, majoritarian and communal right from the beginning," he said.

look what happened to Anna Hazare and lokpal no one even talks about it. Kangress knows how to derail the main issue. Modi should avoid this trap. everyone fears modi and want to put him down as communal even when he is not. We want a good change in this county away from kangress. infact kangress has appointed maken only to counter Modi. let country not divide into hindo VS moslim. let country decide on development, bright future and fairness.

Why are we the people of India, always fight like cocks?
    India is a great Country.
It is we who make or spoil our Country!

    1. May our leader be a great statesman.
    2. May our leader be a thorough gentleman.
    3. May our leader be a decently educated, well mannered, well spoken, inspirational personality.
    4. May our leader have large heart to love every citizen of India, irrespective of his/her cast, religion, language, race, gender or look.
    5. Last but most important, our leader should be anointed by God almighty who abides by the will of God to all his people.

It is congress who has divided the nation based on Communism and not BJP. We are under the this government for more than 60 years the " secret behind their energy" is " Vote bank politics". People do not understand this due to media projections( as many of the news channels could be controlled ?. They know people will vote based on casts and not based on governance. This is the secularism defined by Congress.

You believe it or not......it can happen only in India.

When I say "Bharat Mata ki Jai ho" (In English "Victory for Mother India"):-
    1) 50 % people don't understand What I said - They use other language
    2) 30 % people don't understand Why I said this - They are struggling to earn there daily bread
    3) 20% people don't understand How can I say this - They think its communal to speak such sentence....
    4) 40% people dont't want to understand this - They are busy in earning extra disposable incomes.
    5) 10% people don't want to support me - They think am not from there state.
    6) 10% people don't want to support me - They think am not from thire caste or
    religion

Its just an example of a fact that how diversified we Indians are and how dificult is to keep all on same platform.

    Statistics: 5 religions, 22 languages, 28 states, 1208 castes

hope our leadres understand this ,so instaed of all those arguments central goverment can focous on development ,& be tahnkfulll for the pepole who have slected them second term

It is absolutely amazing to see how the entire youth population is going against the pathetic Congress government! Every educated guy understand the vote bank politics that Congress plays in the name of welfare and secularism. If someone among us rules the country, the first thing we would do is remove reservations. If 60 years of reservations and quota has not done any good, it won't do any good in the coming years as well. Why is it that despite cut throat competition, General Category student who represent 96% of the community get access to only 50% of the available seats? It is just in the name of politics! Nothing else. There is no focus on education, no focus on the middle class, no focus on the youth in country where the average age is 26! Seriously, what is the congress thinking? We are that foolish that we will fall for the trap that works for the uneducated poor? With the current state where the youth is getting frustrated with Joblessness and low payscales, the Congress is sure to not be in power next election.

Last ten years of UPA rule in the country has shifted all the policies of India towards US. Our stock market and currency market is largely dominated by US financial giants. Defense & Aviation deals with US companies are clear indicator of India going vastly in the grip of US companies. Continuation of UPA at centre under a foreign origin lady with day to day increase of US dominance in Indian sub continent with specific focus on India is clear danger for all of us. Please organize yourself under NDA to save this country from further deterioration in economy and ultimately Indian sovereignty.

Why all are (Mainly Congi) giving so much importance on Modi’s every speech. He talks around 1 hour. But we take up any one word in his one hour and do the debate and ignore all other matter he spoke. Better we should not give much importance. Otherwise these things gives him more popularity which really required. He wants to get debated all his speeches in public. And we do the same in public media. We should understand who is real winner out of this.

    DONT GET CONFUSED.
POPULARITY CAN BE ACHIEVED FOR MAINLY TWO REASONS.
BEING POPULAR DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN BEING GREAT/GOOD.
POPULARITY CAN BE ACHIEVED WHEN ONE IS LOVED FOR THEIR GREAT DEEDS FOR EG. MAHATMA GANDHIJI.
POPULARITY CAN ALSO BE ACHIEVED WHEN ONE IS HATED AND CONTROVERSIAL LIKE ADOLF HITLER.
WE KNOW THAT FEKU'S POPULARITY FALLS IN THE ADOLF HITLER CATEGORY - CONTROVERSIAL PERSONALITY AND HATED !!!

Why Congress is so obsessed with Modi? In fact they are giving him more publicity by attacking him for whatever he says or does. Just ignore him if you want people to ignore his comments! (I myslef read Modi's Reuter interview only because Congress made a big noise about it).
    1. Congress might try to project themselves as the saviours of Muslims, but Muslims hate Modi any way - you don't need preachings of Congress for it
    2. Congress cannot change the mindsets of Sangh Parivar in any case.
    3. That leaves the common man - He would watch a serial rather than news channel showing mindless fighting/ arguements. Knowing Congress history, he won't believe what Congress says. If he despises BJP/Modi, he will just show BJP the door just like he did in Karnataka. You don't have to shouton the top of your voice for that.

    @ jeevan
the helplessness of congress in front of Feku has already been proven in last Karnataka assembly election. Feku put all his energy to defame congress, but failed miserably. Coming lok sabha election also will teach Feku right lesson. Forget opposition parties, NDA parties in cluding some top BJP leaders itself will crush this Feku after election.

Well half of the thing Manish Tiwari says is hardly understood by many including me. Cong is being now confronted with all its failed governance for which they have no answer. Their only and only hope remains is the big Secularism which is nothing but Muslims sympathy. But muslims are realizing that Cong is using them as joker in playing cards. When Modi said let's have open debate with facts n proves what NDA govt did in 6 yrs and what Cong did in 60yrs, there is no answer to that. They are not ready to take on the debate. Couple of days ago they hinged on to the "puppy" and I see them talking about "burqa". Don't be surprised if today's prime time news channels are filled with Burqa debate.

Nowadays if Modi opens his mouth to speak certaain sections of people across the nation gets up set and takes on him.It appears UPA has set up a seperate cell under the minister for dis-information ie., Diggy or Piggy as people call him and Manushaya Tiwari as convener to monitor Modi's speaches.Today Modi has become the most populor political leader in the country.Yesretday's his Pune gathering was a testimony of his populartity.

None of the parties are not concentrating development of the country and really I dont understand why congress has to give reply to each statements of Narendra Modi.Whtever he speeks just keep aside and concentrate on your duties.BJP is on just focusing on 2014 election but till that time congress have a time to show modi's real face not in words but in work.

Looking at the speed Modi's each statement is scrutinized. Next time if he just says - Muslims, congress and its mindless leaders would start arguing - "How can Modi use 'Muslims' word in his speech, he is becoming so much communal an so forth" . Looks like Congress has learnt the art of diverting the mind of common man to useless issues to gain time for their corrupt governance so that they can loot as much as possible before next election. Just shameless they are to even utter a word after having a government with record-breaking corruptions. Shame on them.Congress party really a political party only they know how gain votes & plying politics with our emotions our faith & our future … they are really miss guide us… making some fake issues to diverting peoples mind from there scams which are came serially one after another right from beginning. congress pls answer for corruption, indecisiveness, rapes of young girls, economy. Our Corrupt medi@ feel shy to ask these to their boss-The Congress of Gandis

Jeevan brother, those who killed Sikhs in 1984 riots, they are all hard-line Hindus. If you want to search them now, then you will find them now in BJP only because most of them are joined to BJP which is fit for their ideology. Don,t simply blame for Congress National party
