Six injured in Srinagar grenade attack

Srinagar, Jul 17 (IANS): At least six people were critically injured in a grenade attack by militants here Wednesday, police said.

The militants hurled the grenade at a police vehicle in Batmaloo market in Srinagar, a senior police officer said.

"The grenade exploded inside the vehicle injuring four policemen and a detainee, who was being taken to north Kashmir's Baramulla district by the police. One passerby was also injured in the explosion," the officer said.

All the injured have been shifted to hospital where doctors treating them described their condition as critical.
