Helicopter crash kills three in Russia

Moscow, Jul 22 (IANS): A helicopter crashed in Russia's northwest Murmansk region, killing three people including two British nationals, officials said.

The Eurocopter-120 private helicopter had set off its emergency beacon signal about 150 km from the city of Murmansk Sunday, Xinhua reported citing Itar-Tass news agency.

The incident took place at a tourist camp. Two of the dead were British nationals and one was Russian, the Northwestern Transport Prosecutor's Office said. The pilot survived the crash, police said.

"Three people standing on the ground are most likely to have been killed by the rotor of the helicopter as it tried to take off," an official said.
