Libyan official visits UAE embassy in Libya


Tripoli, July 28 (IANS/WAM): A senior Libyan official recently visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) embassy in Libya after it was targetted by a terrorist attack last week.

Nuri Abushmin, president of the Libyan General National Congress, met Mohammed Hamad Al Zaabi, acting Charge d'Affaires at the UAE embassy. Both sides held discussions on the attack.

Expressing apology about the terrorist act, the Libyan official stressed on the importance of intensifying surveillance on the UAE embassy to ensure necessary protection for members of the diplomatic mission.

He thanked and appreciated the UAE for its support for the Libyans during the Feb 17 Revolution. He hailed the UAE humanitarian aid, which had the greatest impact in alleviating dire condition witnessed by the Libyan people.
