Car robbed in Gurgaon, found burnt


Gurgaon, July 28 (IANS): A luxury car was robbed and its driver abducted from Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway here and the vehicle was found burnt in a village in Haryana's Rewari district near Rajasthan border, police said Sunday.

The Audi car of Sushil Kapoor, a resident of Heritage City Apartments and CEO of a private firm, was Saturday night looted by three unidentified men near the Jharsa Chowk on the expressway, police said.

"Kapoor's driver Gyan Singh was abducted and the car robbed while returning to his employer's home," said Jaiparkash Yadav, chief of sector 40 police station.

The driver was purchasing some food from Jharsa Chowk when the abductors snatched the car's keys from him, forced him to sit in the vehicle and drove away the car, police said.

Gyan Singh was later dropped by the culprits at a secluded spot, police said.

Yadav said the car was found burnt near Kanuka village in Rewari district. "It might have caught fire due to short circuit," he said.
