Bikers loot Rs.14 lakh in Delhi


New Delhi, July 29 (IANS): Two unidentified bike-riding attackers robbed a bag containing Rs.14 lakh from employees of a cash collection company in broad daylight Monday afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred near Cross River Mall close to Karkardoom Courts compelx in east Delhi between noon and 1.00 p.m.

"The bikers beat up two employees of CNS (a cash collection security company) who had collected Rs.14 lakh from Haldiram's and fled with the bag containing the cash," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Dinesh Kumar Gupta told IANS.

Gupta said CNS employees Ajay and Narayan collected cash from snack and food chain Haldiram's and were going to their van parked outside the firm's office when they were looted.

"CNS collects cash from various companies under security and deposit it in banks," said the officer.

"Haldiram's employees and CNS employees are being questioned," the officer added.
