Amritsar, July 30 (IANS): At least 22 Pakistani nationals, including 19 fishermen, were released Tuesday by Indian authorities and allowed to go home from the Attari-Wagah border.
The Pakistani fishermen had been arrested for crossing into India's territorial waters. They were lodged in various jails.
The Pakistanis were handed over by the Border Security Force (BSF) and immigration authorities to their Pakistani counterparts after completing formalities at Attari, 30 km from here.
India and Pakistan regularly release prisoners, mostly fishermen and those who have crossed the land border inadvertently, as a goodwill gesture.
