Manipal, Jan 28: Kavita Agneta Gonsalves was awarded the Dr. T. M. A. Pai Gold Medal for securing the first rank  based on performance in all the semesters of the Bachelor of Architecture course completed during the year 2005. She was awarded her degree and medal by Dr. Ramesh Pai, Chancellor MAHE.

When asked what her thoughts were as she was receiving her medal, she said, “It was a moment of pride for my family and for me. The five years of hard toil finally paid off. I finally graduated to be an Architect. I was eagerly waiting for the graduation day, when I would wear the cloak and cap and receive my degree and also the gold medal in the limelight. Finally I’m a graduate.”

Kavita A Gonsalves, the proud daughter of Lucy and Thaddeus Gonsalves and sister of Ryan (Mumbai), Melissa (USA) and Joshua residing in Bahrain, is currently employed in Bangalore. She has already been involved in many major projects. This young achiever has made a name for herself in the field of Architecture & Design.

The Annual Convocation of Manipal Academy of Higher Education was held on Saturday, 21st January 2006 at KMC Greens, Manipal. Candidates were  awarded the degrees on the dias by Dr. Ramesh Pai, Chancellor MAHE. Dr. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Chairman of the University Grants Commission and Dr. Vijay L. Kelkar, Chairman of IDFC Pvt. Equity Co. Ltd.
