Sultry day in Delhi, rain likely Thursday


New Delhi, July 31 (IANS): It was a sultry day in the capital Wednesday with the maximum temperature settling at 33.7 degrees Celsius - average for this time of the season. The Met Office has forecast rain Thursday.

"An overcast sky is expected Thursday. Rain is likely in parts of the city," an official of the India Meteorological Department said.

Thursday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively, the official added.

The minimum temperature Wednesday was 26 degrees Celsius - average for this time of the year. The humidity wavered between 85 and 70 percent.

Tuesday's maximum and minimum temperatures settled a notch below average at 33.1 degrees Celsius and 25.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
