Udupi, Aug 2: Udupi MLA Pramod Madwaraj along with senior registrar officer Janaki N handed over chair, table and computer to Sub-registrar's office at Brahmavar.

Under the leadership of Nagaraj Hegde, a fund of Rs 50,000 was collected for this cause.

Godwin Menezes said, “Every day large number of people visit the office, most of them being poor and aged and not in a position to stand for long hours. Brahmavar Sub-registrar's office has only one computer with which 15 to 20 registrations are done. Most of people who come from far off places like Akloor , Peradoor and Manchu go back home without finishing their works.”

“Earlier a request was forwarded for a computer and two additional staffs to revenue minister V Sreenivasa Prasad through MP Jayaprakash Hegde. IGR was also informed about this but nothing was done. So we ourselves decided to contribute to serve this purpose,” they said.

Rajesh Shetty, president of Brahmavar block, Bujangh Shetty, former ZP president, S Narayan, former president Varamballi panchayat, Alwyn Andrade, Ravi Prakash Gonsalves among others were present.
