Hot, sunny Friday in Delhi, rainy Saturday expected


New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS): It was a hot, sunny day in the capital Friday and the maximum temperature settled two notches above average at 36 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast a rainy Saturday.

"The skies will be cloudy tomorrow (Saturday) and parts of the city will receive rains," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 and 27 degrees Celsius.

Friday saw partly cloudy skies and the minimum temperature was a notch above average at 27.5 degrees Celsius.

Since the onset of the monsoon in June, the city has recorded 460 mm of rain.

Thursday's maximum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 34.9 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
