Puttur, Jan 31: Noted entrepreneur and educationist K P Ahmad Haji has bagged the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Gold Award - 2005 given by International Integrity, Peace and Friendship Society.  The award will be conferred at a glittering ceremony to be held in Chennai on Thursday January 2.

K P Ahmad Haji is a household name in the area.  An eminent educationist and entrepreneur, he has been associated in various organizations too.  He is the founder of Ansaruddin Education Trust here.  Along with this he is also the founder president of Khidmattuddin Young Men's Association, Ansarudding Education Institutions, Puttur Taluk unit of Jamiyyattul Falah and Areca nut Traders Association.

Currently he is also the founder convener of Karnataka Islamic Academy of Kumbra and managing director of Jamia Al-Kausar Shariat College.  He is also the committee president of Badria Jumma Masjid of Kumbra and Mohiuddin Jumma Masjid at Shekhmale.

Earlier he was also the member of Puttur Block Congress Committee and Dakshina Kannada Muslim Education Trust and State Waqf Committee.
