Mangalore, Aug 10: The Aami Admi Party staged a protest in front of the DC office against the strategy of the Central Government in keeping the political parties out from the Right to Information Act (RTI), here on Saturday August 10.

Addressing the protestors, convener Robert Rosario said, “All the national political parties, both ruling and oppositions have joined their hands with the central government’s strategy to amend the RTI act as this would create more opportunities to initiate scams and scandals.”

"If the amendment is implemented it would help the parties to hoard black money. It would also instigate to carry out scams and loot the general public. Hence the political parties need to be transparent about their momentary incomes and selection of candidates. This would help to curb bribery and corruption,” he said.

Aam Admi party will contest in the upcoming Delhi elections for the first time and the names of the candidates for the 70 legislative constituencies will be announced, he informed.

"Every constituency needs Rs 14 lacs according to Aravind Kejriwal. The Dakshina Kannada District Committee will collect Rs 14 lacs as funds to donate to the constituency. Hence the district committee will start collecting money from tomorrow for the Delhi assembly election expenses and Rs 100 each will be collected from 14,000 people," he said.

“The whole funding procedures of the party will be made transparent and the donor names will be published in the party website”, he added.

Party leaders Darmendra, Roshan Ullal, Satish Rai, Vinod Rao among others were present.
