Eight killed in Punjab accident


Chandigarh, Aug 12 (IANS): At least eight people, including two women, were killed in an accident involving three vehicles near Moga town in Punjab Monday, police said.

The accident occurred on the Moga-Ludhiana highway, 70 km from Ludhiana, when a bus collided with a truck. The driver of a small vehicle - that rammed into the truck - also died.

Police said that eight people died on the spot.

At least 30 people were injured in the accident, ten of them critically, doctors said. The injured were rushed to Moga civil hospital.
