New Delhi: Ryan International inaugurates INMUN conference

New Delhi, Aug 13: Indian Model United Nations (INMUN) 2013 conference was officially inaugurated with the theme “Take a STAND” with a grand opening ceremony at Scope Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on August 8.

 The Ryan International Group of Institutions under the direction of founder chairman, Dr Augustine F Pinto and MD, Grace Pinto, provides various national and international platforms and forums for students to have an opportunity to get an insight into what happens outside the academic boundaries and INMUN is one such mega platform. 

The conference provides a platform to collaborate and network to overcome differences and conflict in order to resolve modern-day problems of socio-political and economic dimensions.

About a thousand aspiring students from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore and from countries Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Nigeria came together to debate and negotiate and find the best way forward to peace and progress through dialogue and discussions. 

One of the remarkable aspect this year was that although at present India and Pakistan are going through a diplomatic crisis, children of both the countries meet for a peaceful tomorrow at the Indian Model United Nations 2013.

Sonia Gandhi, chairman National Advisory Council in her message says “At Ryan’s INMUN the exchange of youthful thoughts and aspirations in a friendly interactive mode will certainly be a memorable experience for these young ambassadors who represent future citizens of a fast-changing world.” 

Speaking on the occasion, Grace Pinto, managing director, Ryan International Group of Institutions, said, “This conference has been designed to provide a wide platform to young ambassadors to acquire and assimilate the art of diplomacy and then spread the serene radiance of peace throughout the world. We believe that the Lord Almighty will bless each of these children who have been enlightened with knowledge and truth in pursuit of global peace.”

Eminent speakers from various fields graced the conference sessions sharing their vast knowledge and expertise.  During his session, professor Dr M M Pant, prominent educationist said, “Ryan’s INMUN is indeed a great platform where the deliberation and experience lead to integration beyond the limits of being nationalistic.  It gives students a view of multiple perceptions of the global scenario which is very important.” 

Amongst others there were professor Ram Upendra Das, professor in Information Systems for Developing Countries, Dr H S Kaprwan Retd, Scientist (DRDO), Jayant Chaudhary, young and dynamic Member of Parliament, Dr Nandita Sharma, Dr Sanjay Pandey, Cdr. Arvind R. Vardhan and also several other eminent professors from renowned universities and counselors were part of this three day conference.

 The speakers with their expertise on their respective subject matter induced in the young students motivation to ‘Take a Stand’ and contribute towards the betterment of society.

While addressing the delegates in the closing ceremony, Ryan Pinto, CEO of Ryan Group of Schools urged the delegates to take a stand on issues that matter them the most and stick to them with resolute determination.

Through the actual working of the Model United Nations with an executive board, students discussed various burning issues such as unemployment, health care, women empowerment, peaceful negotiations between countries etc and actually found the root cause of various problems and provided their solutions in promotion of peace and prevention of international conflicts.
