Concerted efforts needed to fight terror: Nawaz Sharif


Islamabad, Aug 13 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said the problem of terrorism was not limited to particular regions of the country and concerted efforts were required to combat the menace.

The state would ensure the security of the citizens and employ all possible measures for this purpose, reported Dawn News citing Nawaz Sharif as he visited the interior ministry where he also reviewed the prospects of the constitution of a new force to tackle terrorists.

He also said that consultations with provinces was imperative to ensure effective handling of the issue of terrorism.

As many as 38 people were killed and 50 others wounded in Pakistan's Quetta city while attending a funeral on the eve of the Eid al-Fitr festival.
