Center not taking Kishtwar violence seriously: Rajnath

New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh Thursday accused the central government of not taking seriously the communal violence in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking after hoisting the national flag at the BJP headquarters here, he described the Kishtwar Hindu-Muslim clashes as a threat to national security.

"There are some undesirable elements in the country who stand on Indian soil and shout 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogans. It is a matter of worry when such things are ignored," Rajnath Singh said.

"This is a threat to India's sovereignty. The present government is not taking this challenge as seriously as it should.

"The government should take determined steps and create a situation so that no one dares to shout slogans hailing another country."
