On I-Day, leaders should not criticise others: Advani on Modi

New Delhi, Aug 15 (PTI): In an apparent jibe at Narendra Modi, who lashed out Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from Bhuj, senior BJP leader L K Advani today said that on a day like Independence Day leaders should not be critical of others.

"I heard the Prime Minister today...Today on Independence Day, without criticising anybody, we all should realise that India has unlimited potential for the future," he said.

Advani was speaking at his residence here after hoisting the national flag, moments after the Gujarat Chief Minister spoke at the Independence Day function in Bhuj, where he hit out at the Prime Minister.

Advani, BJP Parliamentary Party chief, struck an optimistic note about the future.

"India has unlimited potential for the future. This past decade which- as the Prime Minister said today- will get over in 2014. He has enumerated the achievements and the shortcomings of this decade. We should now be concerned about making the decade starting from 2014 an unprecedented one in India's history. We should give it the best performance we can," Advani said.

Talking about a book on black money, which he was currently reading, Advani said, "The theme of the book is that though capitalism is good, if ethics and morality are set aside and people indulge in corruption, then it gives capitalism a bad name."

Insisting that one should do such work that nobody can point fingers at them, Advani said the country should work towards making the 21st Century, a century of India where the world accepts that there can be no comparison with this nation.

Talking is easy. but difficult to practice. In this case Mody has work of only criticising & talking. I have never seen any of his contribution for the development of the country or positive staements so far. This shows his inability to aim for the job what BJP dreams. Mr. Advani you being senior Political leader please dont take his speeches seriously. you are aware " Bogaluva Nai kacchudilla" Nowadays, people are more educated and realised that marketing is not only talking. Product also should be worth buying & genuine.
