Mangalore, Feb 4: For BJP it was a long-cherished dream come true, unexpected though.  For the first time BJP has formed a government in the state albeit JD (S) leads the coalition steered by Kumaraswamy, with the party having a majority playing the second fiddle..

It is a question of power. Who cares for the environment and public health?

Whatever it may be, BJP has lots to cheer about and the partymen did it in its own boisterous style by bursting crackers and distributing sweets etc.  It was no different state of affairs in the city too.  Actually the undivided district has become the nucleus of BJP with its lion,s share, both in the assembly and parliamentary elections.

Sweet revenge against the previous coalition

On Friday after the new JD (S)-BJP government came into power in the afternoon, the BJP activists in the city began their celebrations on a high note.  While crackers were burst and sweets distributed at Navabharat Circle where the BJP office is situated, the party leaders led by district spokesperson Monappa Bhandari danced to the tunes of music.  Corporators Mariamma Thomas, Venkatesh Achar, Prema Vasudev, party leaders Shivanand Mendon, Raju Kulal, Ganesh Karnik and others were present on the occasion.

Flagging the march to the seat of government

The victory celebrations were also seen at Udupi and Karkala.  Udupi district BJP vice president Shankar Poojary and party leaders Kota Srinivas Poojary, Udaykumar Shetty, Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, Baikady Suprasad Shetty, Upendra Nayak and others were present at the celebrations held at the Udupi district BJP office.
