Mangalore Feb 5: The United Forum of Bank Union (UFBU), a joint forum of bank unions, has decided to stage a protest demanding the restoration of appointments on compassionate grounds.
The union which has planned to hold the protest on March 9 has also placed a charter of five demands which include withdrawal of ban on recruitment and stopping of outsourcing in the banks, adopting autonomous banking corporation, stopping of employees of harassment in the name of 24-hour banking and fixing of accountability for the NPAs in banks.
Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, general secretary of the union Ramkrishna Poonja said that the decision to hold the strike was taken during the meeting of All Bank Employees Associations held at Chennai recently. Notices have also been served to the chairman of the Indian Banks Association, Mumbai, he added.
On March 9 the strike will be joined by AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, NOBO, INBOC, INBEF and NOBW.
