Bantwal, Feb 7: A poignant incident in which a young mother ended her life along with her two year old boy child has been reported on Sunday February 5 afternoon from Goltamajal near here.

Jayanti (25), wife of Sadashiva of Benjanapadavu, threw herself into a pond along with her boy child Rakshan (2) on Sunday.   Jayanti had been given in marriage to Sadashiva 3 years ago.  She had gone to her parental house some days ago and had returned to her husband's house only 4 days ago.

The locals said that there were no problems with the couple and they lived a cordial life.  On Sunday she had even participated in the youth conference, which was organized at Goltamajal and was there during the lunch.  Thereafter she went home and committed suicide.

Vittal MLA Padmanabh Kottari, ZP member A C Bhandari and others visited the place.

The Bantwal town police have registered a case in this regard.
