PM pays tribute to Rajiv Gandhi


New Delhi, Aug 20 (IANS): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other leaders Tuesday paid tributes to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in the central hall of parliament as well as at Veer Bhumi on his 69th birth anniversary.

"Today is Sadbhavana Day and everyone takes pledge at the Prime Minister's Office," tweeted the Prime Minister's office.

The pledge was to "work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India".

Sadhbhavana Day is observed every year Aug 20, marking the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi.
