Banga Beats ties up with PlayUp

Bangalore, Aug 21 (IANS): Indian Badminton League (IBL) Bangalore-based franchise Banga Beats Wednesday announced a tie-up with PlayUp, a mobile based social network for live coverage.

The tie-up would create a digital social fan engagement for badminton for the Bangalore based team.

Speaking on the association, former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh, the brand ambassador of PlayUp, said: "I am very excited that fans, players, brands and sponsors are getting behind badminton. It is an encouraging trend and I wholeheartedly support it. Banga Beats association with PlayUp will help deliver real-time content from on and off court to badminton fans across the world."

Banga Beats director Amit Mavi said: "We wanted to bring this team closer to the fans as much as possible and teaming up with PlayUp is a step in that direction. I am personally humbled by the fan support we have received thus far."

The Beats can use this mobile technology to provide their fans with the most up-to-date and comprehensive coverage of the IBL and their team's performance.
