Mangalore, Feb 8: A motorcyclist was killed when a tanker knocked him down at Jappinamogaru on the National Highway 17 near here on Tuesday February 7 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Devappa (44), hailing from Shirahatti in Gadag.  He was working in Bykampady for sometime now.

Devappa was entering the National Highway 17 at Jappinmogaru after coming from the Mahakali Padpu Road.  As he was joining the highway at the junction, a tanker speeding tanker knocked him down.  He fell on the road and sustained serious injuries in his head.  Though he was rushed in to the hospital, he succumbed to the injuries on the way.

The Mangalore Rural police have registered a case in this regard.
