Moodbidri, Feb 8: One person was killed and three others were seriously injured when a private bus collided with a goods tempo near Kesarugadde Bhajana Mandir, opposite Mudu Marnad Cross Road Junction on the National Highway 13 on Wednesday February 8 morning.

The deceased has been identified as Abdulla alias Addu (48), a resident of Tumbe near Bantwal while the injured have been identified as Abdul Salam Atavulla, Abdul Rashid and Mohammad Ashraf.  All of them have been admitted to a private hospital at Mangalore.

All of them were going to Bajgoli via Moodbidri to fetch firewood when the accident took place.  As they reached Kesarugadde Cross, Vishal Travels bus coming to Moodbidri from Karkala and driven by one Sahul Hameed hit the tempo on the right side. 

As a result both the vehicles were badly damaged while the tempo driver and others in the tempo were injured seriously.  Though all of them were rushed in to the hospital, Abdulla died on the way itself.
