US readies strikes, Syrians prepare

BEIRUT, Aug 29 (Reuters) : People in Damascus stocked up on supplies on Wednesday and some left homes close to potential targets as US officials described plans for multi-national strikes on Syria that could last for days.

United Nations chemical weapons experts completed a second field trip to rebel-held suburbs, looking for evidence of what — and who — caused an apparent poison gas attack that residents say killed hundreds of people a week ago.

But as UN chief Ban Ki-moon appealed for unity among world powers and sought more time for the inspectors to complete their work, Washington and its European and Middle East allies said their minds were made up and that President Bashar al-Assad must face retribution for using banned weapons against his people.

Syria’s government, supported notably by its main arms supplier Russia, cried foul. It blamed rebel “terrorists” for releasing the toxins with the help of the United States, Britain and France.

Britain pushed the other four veto-holding members of the UN Security Council at a meeting in New York to authorise military action against Assad to protect Syrian civilians — a move certain to be blocked by Russia and, probably, China.

The United States and its allies say a UN veto will not stop them.  A senior US official said strikes could last several days and would involve other armed forces.

Western armies are expected to wait until the UN experts withdraw. Their initial 14-day mandate expires in four days, and Secretary-General Ban said they need four days work.

Its better not to involve US in the Syrian conflict. whatever is the impact of war, it will fall ultimately on US citizens and NRI's who live there through their tax, prices. The dream of Obama is better living life will be remained as a dream. Instead, US should concentrate on problems at her own home
Latest statics shows more than 60% of Americans are against the
middle-east war. I don't think good outcome will come through Syrian war, because the present Assad regime belongs to Shia group whose rule is opposed by Sunni rebels backed Al Queda group. So, once the war over, definately the new government will be hardliner mingled with Al queda's and the govt will be just like Muslim brotherhood of Egypt which is non-secular.
Now, the most of Arab countries and hardliners wanna seek US to intervene in Syria and blame US for delaying her action. They will continue to blame even after the war for causalities. Let their own OIC & Arab solve their matter themselves.

For some people to make war with Pakistan is 5 day cricket game.

First of all our aging and useless military hardware supplied by Russia is taking a toll on our own people while having war games or practicing at peace time.

Secondly without war our infrastructure & economy is going on a reverse trend when other developing country like China is challenging with world super powers.

We do not need war with Pakistan but s a strong signal to them not to fiddle with India’s security would be sufficient for the time being.

The fight with which our parlimentarians are pre-occupied is enough to enjoy.

If this strike did take place much earlier thousands of innocent people including children could have been saved in Syria. I am sure now powerful multinationals are wholeheartedly behind USA to ute the much awaited military strike. The targeted job should be finished swiftly with minimal loss of lives. Mind you, people are showing their hatred towards US yet they send their children to US for studies and love to buy US products. I hate hypocrites.

So far people were criticising USA for not doing anything in Syria. The reasons cited include Syria don't have oil like Iraq.
Now people criticise USA for planning attack. The reason include Syria has oil.
Syria has lost 100,000 plus people, several peace talks initiated by UN have failed due to Russia and China's support to Bashar.
When people say other means of resolving the crisis - they should tell what is it. Perhaps whole world siding with Bashar?
It is not going to be win-win combination for anyone including US.

First of all , Syrian regime is controlled by one man which is not fair. What happened to Saddam, Gadhafi some African countries, Egypt?

We in Indian’s are not less. We blame Congress and criticize congress as Gandhi dynasty. Nobody wants dictatorial rule. A change of governance is always better.

The impact of this development surly throw further impact on already crippled Indian Economy. Oil prices have already started surging. From every angle congress is facing bad times. They have to consult some astrologer to know the future more precisely.

Because USA is the world Leader. Do you want women, children, elders, helpless people to die in the hands of Bashar Al-Assad's Chemical Weapons. Assad does not talk peacefully to his own people because he is a dictator. Dictators do not have place in this world. Every citizen have their rights and freedom, so Assad must go. Assad is not talking peacefully instead he is using military might on his own people and now he has used chemical weapon on his own people.
Mr. Nagesh Nayak will you accept dictatorship in India and let go democracy. State of Emergency was d in India from June 21 1975 to 21 March 1977, did you like it. Why people hated it and imprisoned former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Because we are not slaves, we all love freedom.
Why don't you pay in Rupees for all the import bills instead of Dollars, As you know nobody is willing to accept rupees as a international currency to pay import and export bills. All the International dealings are done in dollars.

Most of the leaders were created by the people, but when they get power they will not see the comports of the people but they will see their own comports by cheating, corruption, etc. A good leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. But The bad leader is hated by the people the good leader is loved by the people. The people hates present regime of Syria. When he kills his people to retain his power, some one has to take action.

Oil proved curse to people of these part of the world(Diamond to African countries).the demand for the US dollar is directly tied to the demand for oil. when demand for oil increases, the demand for the dollar increases worldwide. Its called petro dollar..In the year 2000, Iraq decided to begin selling their oil in Euros,US invaded Iraq.In 2010 Libya threatened it will discontinue selling oil in US dollar, his fate known now..Syria switched to Euro in 2006 & planning a oil pipe line connecting Iran, its fate nearer..

Check the previous record of America, whenever there is economic crisis in that country they go for war with some country which benifits them by selling arms and the fuel hike. There are many ways to punish bashar al asad other than a war.
