DLF's Noida mall gets green certification


New Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS): Real estate major DLF Friday said its 'Mall of India' in Noida has been awarded gold certification by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED).

According to the company, the soon to be operational mall is the first of its kind to be gold certified for the state-of-the-art features related to building design and construction.

"This (certification) amply demonstrates our commitment towards conservation of environment and natural resources," said Ramesh Sanka, managing director, rental business, DLF.

The mall boasts of 100 percent treatment and reuse of the waste water generated onsite and storm water management system consisting of rain water harvesting tanks and bore wells to recharge ground water.

The mall is constructed using regional and renewable materials with low VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

The DLF property spans over 2.8 million sq.ft. (built up area) and is located at the centre of Noida's commercial district.
