Mangalore, Sep 3: City North Zone High School level Hockey Tournament organized by the D K Zilla Panchayat Public Education Department and Government Women’s College, Balmatta was inaugurated on Monday September 2 at Nehru Maidan, here.
Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo inaugurated the tournament by lighting the lamp.
In his inaugural address, he congratulated the organizers for hosting the event. “It would indeed encourage Hockey, the National Game of India. Let this become a role model to others,” he added.
Students from various schools took active participation in the event.
T K Sudhir, Mohan Mendon, Hemanth Garodi, Ronald Fernandes, Abdul Khadar, Raghunath, Krithin Kumar among others were present on the occasion.
