Bhutan PM invites India Inc to invest


Hyderabad, Sep 3 (IANS): Bhutan Prime Minister Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay Tuesday invited Indian industry to invest in Bhutan and explore the Himalayan country’s potential.

Interacting with industry members here, the Bhutanese Prime Minister pointed out that Bhutan has good working environment and quality workforce and Indian industry can build upon this foundation.

He was here to attend a session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry on Bhutan as an investment destination.

“India and Bhutan can work hand-in-hand and establish offices to ensure a secured back-up,” the Prime Minister added. He was also keen to work closely with India in promoting IT sector in the country and make steady strides in the sector.

He also highlighted that Bhutan has abundant energy resources and has immense potential to develop alternative sources of energy.

Suresh Chitturi, vice chairman of CII Andhra Pradesh chapter said the visit of the Bhutanese Prime Minister has given necessary impetus to work more closely with the country.
