Government hints at further extending monsoon session

New Delhi, Sep 4 (IANS): Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath Wednesday said the monsoon session would be extended further, if required, as some important legislations are pending.

"Some important legislations are pending which need to be passed. If necessary, we will (further) extend the session," Kamal Nath told reporters outside parliament.

He appealed to all political parties for cooperation.

"I hope all political parties will recognise this and cooperate with the running of the house," he said.

The monsoon session, which started Aug 5, has already been extended by one week and as of now parliament will run till Sep 6.
