Will serve Gujarat till 2017: Narendra Modi

Will serve Gujarat till 2017: Narendra Modi

Ahmedabad, Sep 5 (Agencies): Interacting with students on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Thursday said he plans to "serve" the people of Gujarat till 2017.

"I will serve my people till 2017," said Modi, widely considered the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate in the next Lok Sabha election.

Modi, re-elected the Gujarat chief minister in 2012 for a five-year term, said that he has no ambition to become anything.

Responding to a student’s query whether he will come and talk to them after ‘he becomes PM next year’, Modi said, “I have to serve you till 2017 & I am doing this. The people of Gujarat have chosen me to serve till 2017 and that is my priority. I have to do only that, will focus all my energy in doing that."

Modi was made this year the BJP's Lok Sabha campaign chief, further fuelling speculation that he is in the race for the prime minister's post.

The BJP leader explained why he wanted to be in Gujarat.

"Those people who dream of becoming someone, for them everything gets destroyed," he said.

"One should not dream of becoming someone, one should always dream of doing something. The pleasure in dreaming about something is totally different," he said.

“I have no intention of becoming anything. I want to serve people. I don't dream of becoming somebody but dream of doing something."

Modi’s statement can be seen as an attempt to put pressure on the BJP top brass to declare him as PM candidate and an open assertion that he wants to work on the ground and not be a ‘PM in waiting’ on the lines of what LK Advani was in 1999.

Also, Modi’s stress on being in Gujarat till 2017 may be his way of assuaging his core base in the state that he is and will be in control, especially in view of the stinging claims made by suspended IPS officer DG Vanzara.

On a question on how many times he gets angry in a day and what does he do when he gets angry, Modi said, “I am also human. I am not above the shortcomings humans have. I believe anger can be controlled. It is just about controlling at that moment. If you get angry on others means you fail. More your patience increases the more your anger decreases.”

Reactions

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) immediately said it was not for Modi to decide what his role would be in politics, while the Congress said the chief minister was running "scared".

Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi said Modi's statement was linked to the letter written by jailed police officer D.G. Vanzara, who has blamed the chief minister and former home minister Amit Shah for the many "encounter deaths" in the state.

"He is scared. He knows people of the country will not like to vote for such a person as prime minister," Alvi said.

But BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu said: "Modi will not decide. His role would be decided by the party and the nation. He was just saying about his role in the state."

Modi has the 2002 Riot case against him which congress is trying exploit. Why does no one speak about the 1984 Sikh killings? Weren’t they humans? What about the killings of kashmiri Pandits?.
Well no one wants to talk about that. !
We have been ruled by the dynasty politics and all rowdy sheeters, Rapists, Undeducated goons etc…. We need a PM who can take this country ahead and I can see that in Modi, I am not a supporter of any political party but the current scenario needs someone taking us ahead in the right direction. The Britishers started the divide and rule policy and everyone is following suite.
Most of us see the political parties as a religion and make sure one only votes a candidate if he/she belongs to his/her religion. When we have been educated why do we have to follow this? Our Country is in dire need of development and corruption is the dominant force.
Well you and I can make a difference “VOTE” For the right person and if you don’t see a right candidate make sure you “DON’T VOTE” the wrong one.
    Jai hind !

They came to power by floating NREGA during 2009 and won the election result current financial crisis, now they brought 1.25 crores food security bill without having proper budget to fool the people and and win election. They want to win this election because if BJP comes to power lot of congressmen go behind bars including chairpersons son in law.

Recent events in Gujarat like explosive disclosures by Police officers, Showdown with Governor, refusal of US and other European countries to issue VISA have dented whatever credibility Modi had so far. Modi,s case is like early inflating of the balloon in a party. If you inflate early the balloon sags due to loss of air by the time party begins.

Even after losing the case in the Supreme Court, Mr. Modi filed a curative petition challenging the Supreme Court’s verdict which was again dismissed. Dear Ummar and Manohar

Thats what happens when the Governor in the state is a ex congress lady. We all know Kamla Beniwal was a congress minister in Rajasthan. Kamla has been a minister in Congress governments in Rajasthan since 1954, holding many portfolios, including home, education and agriculture. She was the revenue minister in the Ashok Gehlot government.
Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal and many former Congress Ministers and political leaders from Rajasthan were accused in the 1,000-crore Jaipur Development Authority land scam. She was allocated expensive land at low prices on the basis of false affidavits and documents.
Dr Kamla Beniwal had claimed to be a farm labourer putting in 16 hours of work every day for the past 41,000 days according to the records of Kisan Samuhik Krishi Sahakari Samiti Limited (KSKSSL), a cooperative body in Jaipur, based upon which land was allocated to her. The cooperatives registrar of Jaipur passed strong strictures against KSKSSL and in its inquiry concluded that the samiti's claim that they were farm labourers was false, and that the samiti had deliberately and intentionally given false statements. When such a Governor is in the state what Modi did is right. Governors post is a non political post and should not be used for political stunts like what Beniwal has done. When a state passes a bill with a majority, as a governor you should not reject it. Appointment of Lokayukta was done without consulatation of the government which is also very wrong.I have got my facts right Mr. Ummar , now its your turn to respond.

You are 100% right...the letter is misinterpreted by the pro congress national media's.
The letter clearly says that unlike congress Modi does not interfere in legal procedures. Its understandable with frustration the ex-police office wrote this letter as he is logged in jail along with other honest police officers who carried out their duty to the nation honestly but fell prey to Khangress's evil political game. They stood by the state/nation and today they are paying the price for it and shamless khangress just to return to power is using their shoulders to shoot Modi. The same Khangress used Mumbai police to openly do fake encounters but di not target them but unfortunately they cannot fight Modiji face to face hence using this back door entry policies which they are famous for but at the expense of innocent police officers. Because of such party Indian intelligence/police force/Army are all living in low morals as they never know when they will be targeted by the congress for their political gains. This is the time when our neighbors Pakistan & China are flexing their muscles India led by khangress is telling our force to go on Diet. Once we throw this Khangress Govt to Arabian sea Modi ji will use the same weapons to which the khangress used to fit honest police officers and release them and prove to the nation who are the real nationalists and who are the real anti-nationals. Jai ho NAMO.

Vanzara's Claim On MODI - FACTS and ANALYSIS....

    Q. As per Vanzara modi didnt help him legally.
    A. This proves modi doesnt interfere in legal cases as claimed by #khangress #sickulars and so called human right activists . Proves modi respects law.

    Q. As per Vanzara's letter the encounters were carried as per state govt policy of zero tolerence agnst terrorism .
    A. This proves modi has strong anti terror policy with zero tolerance which is strongly needed against terrorists across india rather than feeding them biryani on tax payers money.

    Q. Vanzara's letter clearly says that terrorists were killed in encounters to protect kashmir like jihad situation .
    A. This showa that the persons killed were terrorists killed in encounter and not innocent people killed in fake encounters as claimed by #khangress #sickulars and other anti modi brigade.

    Q. Vanzara's letter says his cases were transferred out of Gujrat to save gujrat govt.
    A. The cases were transferred on directions of supreme court in response to PIL of teesta stalwad/shabnam hashmi . So gujrat govt has no role in transferring cases .

    Q. Vanzara's letter says that top lawyer ram jethmalani was hired for amit shah and no legal aid was given to him.
    A. Ram jethmalani was hired as counsel by amit shah in individual capacity and not by gujrat govt. As per law state govt can not hire lawyer for any of its official who is accused so gujart govt just followed law by not hiring counsel for Vanzara .

    Q. Vanzara's lettet says that place for gujarat govt is in sabarmati or taloja jail .
    A. It is direct attack on cbi and #khangress #upa that if #khangress #upa thinks he is responsible for encounters then why doesnt they have guts to file case against gujarat govt too as he was following anti terror policy .

    Q. Vanzara says he used to treat modi like God and he let him down by not supporting him .
    A. This again proves that modi doesnt interfere in legal matters and allows the law to take decisions.
