M'lore: Compensation given to victims of calamities

Mangalore, Sep 6: Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo distributed sanctioned compensation amount to the poor families here at NGO Hall, on Thursday September 5.

“If the government servants are dedicated to their works, we can achieve anything and it has been proved through this program. The revenue department has worked harder for the selection of the eligible families for the aide. Revenue is the first department that responds to any natural calamities. To work with this department is remarkable, as it succeeds to bring smiles in the faces of the people to whom it helps,” he added.

Further, he urged the people to inform the revenue department in case of any disasters.

This is the third phase of compensation distribution. In the first phase  Rs 9,10,000 has been distributed, Rs 6,10,000 in the second phase and Rs 5,70,000 in the third phase along with Rs 2,10,000 for the ones who have lost their houses in disasters.

Mangalore Tahashildar Mohan Rao, MCC members’ Latheef, Prakash Alape, revenue inspector Hassan, Dennis D’Silva, T K Sudhir, krithin Kumar among others were present.
