11 burnt to death in Egypt car crash

Cairo, Sep 6 (IANS): Eleven people were burnt to death and one person was injured in a car crash in Egypt Friday.

The accident took place on the road between Assiut and Kharga in Egypt in the early hours of Friday, Xinhua reported citing state-run MENA news agency.

A private car and a taxi collided on the road leading to a fire which caused the fatalities.

Road accidents in recent years in Egypt have sparked outcry over the government's record on transportation safety as most road crashes are results of reckless driving, traffic rules violation and poor road conditions.
