Mangalore, Feb 17: The Pandeshwar police on Thursday February 16 have arrested 6 persons involved in ransacking a hotel at Old Kent Road near Pandeshwar on Wednesday February 15 night.
As reported earlier, a group of Hindu activists had ransacked Hotel Shobha at Old Kent Road for serving beef items on Wednesday night. They had not only damaged the furniture and utensils of the hotel but had even assaulted the cashier and waiter of the hotel. The total loss of property was estimated at Rs 30,000.
The hotel owner Faizal, a resident of Kasargod had filed a case with the Pandeshwar police in this regard. Accordingly, the police arrested Naveen of Jeppinamogaru, Dinesh, a resident of Old Kent Road, Taranath of Bolar, Prakash of Bantwal, Praveen, a resident of Tokkottu and Vasant of Jeppinamogaru on Thursday. They were later produced before the court.
