Mangalore, Feb 18: Claudy D'Souza, a resident of Raikatte near Kulur here was arrested in connection with an illicit distillation case on Friday February 17.

The excise police raided the house of Claudy D'Souza and seized 20 litres of hooch  and 500 litres of rush (sour jaggery concoction) used to prepare liquor.  The police have also seized equipments used in preparing the spurious liquor.

Claudy D'Souza was later produced before the court.  Excise inspector Dharmappa has registered a case in this regard and is investigating the case.
