Mangalore, Feb 18: The inaugural ceremony of the newly-laid wooden flooring at the late Srinivas Mallya indoor stadium here, and the handing over ceremony of the sports equipments by Corporation Bank, will be held on Saturday February 18 at 4.30 pm.

K A Kamath, general manager, Corporation Bank, will inaugurate, and Yogish Bhat, MLA, will preside.

Madhusudan D Kushe, managing director, PVS Group, A Sadananda Shetty, chairman, Sri Devi Education Trust, Blasius D’Souza, MLC, D V Sadananda Gowda, MP, Balakrishna Bhat, MLC and K Ashraf, mayor, MCC, will be the chief guests.

According to a press release, the state-of-the-art wooden flooring has been done at a cost of Rs 25 lac, out of which 20 lac was utilized from the savings of Karavali Utsav 2004-05.  The District Sports Committee has contributed the remaining Rs 5 lac.

An exhibition basketball match will be held between the Indian team and Karnataka team, as part of the inauguration.
