Mangalore, Feb 18: Commotion was seen at the Moodushedde Higher Primary School at Vamanjoor on Saturday February 18 at noon when rumours spread that the hot meals being served to the children were contaminated.
It all began when a tiny lizard was found in the plate of a child. This episode invited the ire of the locals who were enraged by the mismanagement of the school administration.
Sources have also revealed that the days’ meals were sponsored by Bantwal MLA Nagaraj Shetty on being given the ministrial berth.
Locals gathered at the school and took the school administration to task despite the best efforts of the local coporator and the other government officials. As a precautionary measure, few children were taken to the District Wenlock Hospital for test.
Doctors from the neighbouring primary health centre, food inspector, officials from the block education office also rushed to the spot to pacify the crowd.
However no untoward incident has been reported so far.
