Court rejects contempt notice against Shinde

New Delhi, Sep 11 (IANS): A Delhi court Wednesday rejected a defence lawyer's plea to issue contempt notice against Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde for reportedly having said the guilty in the Dec 16 gang rape case would get death penalty.

The Saket court rejected the plea of the defence counsel who claimed the minister had said Tuesday that "death is assured in this case".

The court was hearing the final arguments in the sentencing of the four held guilty in the gang rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman in a moving bus.
