Monti Fest: EKVOT, Konkani Catholic Association, Bellandur

Bangalore, Sep 11: ‘EKVOT Konkani Catholic association – Bellandur, Bangalore’ celebrated ‘Monthi Festh’ in a grand way at our ‘Lady of Sacred Heart Church (OLSH)’, Bellandur, Bangalore.
 
The celebration started at 11:30 AM with blessing of ‘Noven’ and offering flowers to Mother Mary with the singing of “Moriek Hogalsian”. Then to the singing of “Sokkad Sangatha Meliyaan”, everyone went in procession to MSC auditorium for Holy Mass in Konkani. Noven and Infant Mary’s statue was taken in procession by Phirjenth’s.
 
Mass was concelebrated by Father Prashanth Fernandes (OFM) accompanied by our Parish priest, Assistant Parish priest and 2 other MSC priests. The homily focused on 4 important aspects of the feast day. (1)Family get together (2)Love and respect for parents (3)Thanksgiving for the new harvest (4)Respect for ladies in our societies and families.
 
Children offered various types of grains during the offetory procession.


The mass was accompanied by beautiful singing of hymns by the choir with Keyboard and Violin. Children also participated in the choir and sang a communion hymn.
 
Parish priest Father Charles Babu, MSC put some effort to speak a few lines in Konkani. He appreciated the support being provided by EKVOT to the parish activities and looked forward to the same in future too.
Once the mass was concluded, ‘Noven’ was distributed followed by lunch. Delicious Mangalorean vegetarian food was served. Around 200 people participated in the celebration.
 
After lunch, everyone collected their share of ‘Kobu’, concluding the celebration.

    Thanks EKVOT team for organizing this event in a grand way and bringing all the people together. EKVOT Bellandur has been doing a great job every year.
