Five killed in China plant blast


Beijing, Sep 15 (IANS): Five people were killed in an explosion at a chemical plant in China's northeast Liaoning province, officials said Sunday.

The explosion occurred Saturday in a small private chemical plant in Fushun city, when workers were checking material tanks, Xinhua reported.

The blast caused a fire, which was brought under control, firefighters said.
