Udupi, Feb 23: Yuva Fest -2006 (Youth Fest) was held at St Paul's church Balkunje near here on Sunday February 19.

The celebration began with the Eucharist at 8.15 am on Sunday which was celebrated by Fr Abraham D'Souza, assistant director of Divine Word Retreat Centre Mulki. 

Cultural programmes were organized on the same evening as part of Youth Fest.  Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Eric Ozario presided over the function.  Kennedy P D'Souza, director, Sacred Heart Career Academy, Mangalore, Stephen Quadros, Permude, history lecturer at Government College, Kaup and Arun Ajekar, president, ICYM central committee, Mangalore were the chief guests of the programme.

ICYM Balkunje unit president Wilban Lewis welcomed the gathering and animator Richard Kavtar proposed vote of thanks on the occasion.  Preema Pinto and Lizy Martis compered the programme.

"Tisro Dollo" by Richard Kavtar Staged for the First Time


"Tisro Dollo", a play written by Richard D'Souza Kavtar of Sangati Media fame and directed by Jeo D'Silva Agrar was staged for the first time at Balkunje.    The ICYM members of Balkunje unit staged the play.  Richard has already earned a special name for himself in the Konkani literature with his detective and suspense stories over the years.


The audience who had gathered in huge numbers expecting a crisp dialogues, memorable acting and effective direction were not at all disappointed by the playwright, director and the actors.
