Fujairah, UAE, Sep 16 : Konkani community of Fujairah Parish, under the banner of Canara Catholics Fujairah celebrated the feast of nativity of blessed mother on Friday, 13 September.
Festive mass in Konkani was celebrated at 10.30 am. Rev.Fr. Maxim Pinto from Ras Al Khaimah was the celebrant. At the beginning Fr. Patrick, Parish Priest of Fujairah Church welcomed Fr. Maxim.
In his homily Fr.Maxim called the faithful to give importance to family life. He explained how and why one should love and respect his/her mother in the family. He also gave the clear picture of the miraculous statue of our lady of Bambino.
After the mass the children went in a procession with flower baskets in their hands to the grotto. They showered flowers in front of the beautiful statue of Bambino as the choir sang the hymns ‘sokkad Sangatha melyan’ and ‘moryek hogolsiyan’.
Later everyone gathered in the Church hall. Lancy Ashok Dantis, the President of Canara Catholics Fujairah welcomed and greeted everyone. Novem was served to allRowena Veighas performed a dance titled ‘Jesus I love you’.
Fr. Maxim expressed his joy in seeing the participation of the people as a family.Ludy Rebello one of the founder members of CCF was given farewell on her relocation to Mumbai. Melvin Vas mentioned the contribution from Ludy to CCF during past years.
At the end delicious vegetarian food prepared by the CCF committee members was served to all attendees.
