Abu Dhabi - 25 February 2006:Sylvia Pais – Principal of Indian Community School (previously known as ILA) completed 25 years of service as Principal of Abu Dhabi’s premier School.

She was honoured by the H.E. C. M. Bhandari – Ambassador of India at a glittering ceremony held during the Annual Parents Day, held at the Abu Dhabi Indian School Auditorium.

Sylvia Pais hailing from Mangalore has put in 38 years of dedicated and precious years of service nurturing the young students

Sylvia Pais is brilliant teacher, able administrator, tough disciplinarian and extraordinary woman has been instrumental in nurturing ILA Crèche Nursery and Kindergarten into a centre of excellence in education for pre-schoolers in Abu Dhabi.

She is blessed with a phenomenal memory and is able to voice the names of all students studying in her school and many more who have already passed out.  She uses her strong powers of observation even right down to noting contents of student’s lunch boxes and giving parents  related feedback on their child;s eating patters in school.

H.E. Bhandari, lauded the efforts of this extraordinary teacher, who is popular among her students as well as her teaching staff, who swear undying loyalty to her.  She has touched and influenced the lives of many down to the lowest member of her staff.

A person of warmth and compassion has played a such a vital role in shaping the early learning years of innumerable young children.

The function was attended by high profile dignatories from the Indian Embassy, cross section of Indian Community, well wishers and parents.

The function had variety entertainment from the students brilliantly performed as usual trained by the excellent staff the school.
