Taccode, Feb 26: The Catholic Sabha's Taccode unit held the Senior Citizens' Day on Sunday, Feb 26 morning.


After Mass in thanksgiving, a cultural programme was held int he jubileed hall. Fr Hilary Lobo presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the senior citizens were the assets of the society and the latter should show its gratitude to them for giving so much during their prime years.

Moodbidri varado president Alwyn Menezes as chief guest stressed the need to take care of the seniors. Taccode unit president Remigius Sequeira welcomed the gathering and secretary Flavia Mendes proposed a vote of thanks. Peter D'Souza compered the programme.

Taccode's Bethany convent superior Sr Lily and seniormost among the gathering Apoline of Padav ward were on the dais. Games were held and lunch was served thereafter. About 75 senior citizens were present on the occasion.

New office-bearers

Taccode's Catholic Sabha held a meeting and elected new office-bearers:

President: Remigius Sequeira
Vice president: Lucy Crasta
Secretary: Flavia Mendes
Joint secretary: Sharmila D'Silva
Treasurer: Peter D'Souza
